Favor Box

Valentine’s Day/ Wedding/ Anniversary Favor Box

Each year when Valentine’s Day comes up, I’m always trying to think of a small gift to give friends, teachers, coworkers, and family. Last year my niece had a wedding and her favor was a small box with chocolates. I was upset that I couldn’t make it to her wedding, so I decided to make one for myself and share with others. These small boxes can be perfect as a wedding or an anniversary favor. If you know someone who needs a little pick me up, this little box filled with chocolates or cookies will make their day much better.

Each part of this box will fit onto standard size letter paper (8.5” x 11”). If you don’t have a cutting machine you can print this design. PDF template included in download.

What you need:

  • two tone paper (heavy paper)

  • cutting machine or scissors

  • glue or tape tags

  • ribbon (optional)

Design Space Instructions

If you need a reminder how to import image into Design Space click HERE. When you open Design Space you will find both pieces of the box. Use Ungroup to separate each part of the box. (After Ungrouping you can drag your mouse over each image to select all or click individual lines to select a single element.) A ribbon on the top is optional, if you don’t wish to add the ribbon just omit the layer in the design. Change inner lines to score lines and press Attach to combine the layers together to cut. Refer to the image below.

Assemble box by gluing each fold to the wall of the box. I used small clothes pins to hold the glue together.

RIBBON: If you decided to add ribbon to the lid of the box. Just cut short pice of the ribbon about 2”/ 5cm long. Add a dab of glue onto the back side of the lid. Insert ribbon through the opening and attach each end of the ribbon to the glue. You can place the spare cutout heart to cover the ribbon ends and make it look good.

HEART: You can also use the spare cutout hearts or cut some from a different colored paper. Score small section at the bottom of each heart, glue it together, insert in the opening and spread the small scored section. It holds perfectly you don’t even have to use additional glue.
