I happened to notice that mandala designs have been a popular on Pinterest in many shapes and forms. They look complex. Yet, I have learned they are easy to make. They require quite a bit of precision which does take time. I wanted to give it a try and create a few projects for myself. Since I have never drawn a mandala, I decided to create a single layer one. As you can see I have succeeded.
The beauty of this post is that I challenged myself into something which I have never done. I was able to create some projects for myself. I am able to share it with the World. I have learned something new about creating a mandala and I would like to share one quote with you.

For this first project i used an old T-shirt in desperate need of embellishment. I have a Cricut Explore® cutting machine and Glowforge® laser cutter which I use for most of my projects. But SVG files are also compatible with Silhouette Cameo® and many other cutting machines. If you need a quick reminder on how to input files into Design Space here is a link with easy steps. (If yo are using iron-on don’t forget to stick it on the mat the shiny front side down and cut on the back.) I have chosen Cricut® Foil Iron-On in rose gold vinyl which you can find online or at your favorite craft store. It cut beautifully. Yes, weeding took a bit of time, but it was easy since the pieces to remove were large enough to grab with a weeder tool. When you are done, place it on your garment and follow heading/peeling instruction for the vinyl you picked. In the end when your project turns out great, all the weeding was worth it.
For this paper cut I used Glowforge® I was experimenting with multiple settings and (Speed: 200, Power: 13) worked the best. I used a generic craft paper/cardstock so I can not tell the weight of the paper. However, this settings cut smoothly and the air flow was low enough to prevent cut pieces from flying too much. The cut took about 25 minutes.
